Basket on arms, Mae wandered through the winding path in her garden to visit her bees. They hummed around her like tiny, golden companions, darting between blossoms and their honeyed home. She paused to watch them dance around the daisies and pot marigolds and gathered a little jar of their spring work to sweeten her tea. The air was thick with sunshine and the perfume of blooming flowers - sweet as honey itself.
